BIM

Is a collaborative approach that encompasses geometry, spatial relationships, light analysis, geographic information, and the properties of building components. It is used to illustrate the entire lifecycle of a building. The extensive data integrated into a BIM model enables significant cost savings from design to construction, reduces time and waste on site, and eliminates the need for additional coordination checks. The information generated from the model generally results in fewer errors on site due to its highly accurate and coordinated design solution.

BIM allows all members of a construction team to collaborate effectively; everyone involved can work on the same model to add their services from the early design stages through to completion. Any changes made are automatically coordinated across the project, and the information generated from the model is of higher quality than previous approaches.
